    International Publishers, in 1975, launched the historic publication of the first definitive English-language edition of the Collected Works of Karl Marx and Frederick Engels. The 50-volume set will include all the works of Marx and Engels published in their lifetimes or since, their complete correspondence, a considerable part of their unpublished handwritten manuscripts, and newly discovered works and letters. Much of the material will be published for the first time in English, and some for the first time in any language.

    The edition has been prepared jointly by International Publishers, New York; Lawrence & Wishart, London; and Progress Publishers, Moscow.

   The volumes are illustrated, fully annotated, and indexed, clothbound and jacketed, and vary from 700 to 1,000 pages each. Scheduled for publication over a period of fifteen years, successive volumes have been appearing regularly.
